Du Fu (712-770) was an exiled poet from the Tang Dynasty. His poem, “A Guest Arrives” was translated by Wong May.

Wong May is the author of A Bad Girl’s Book of Animals (1969), Reports (1972), Superstitions (1978), and Picasso’s Tears (Octopus Books, 2012). Her book of translations, In the Same Light: Poems For Our Century From the Migrants & Exiles of the Tang Dynasty will be published by Song Cave in 2021.
